On the way to an e-book

The IT sector is experiencing equal parts of pleasure and pain at present. While the bottom is falling out of the PC sales market, the mobile device business is booming. This development also impacts the creation of content for such devices. Electronic books or e-books are an example of such content. They are predestined for mobile devices. This begs the question: How is an e-book created?

An electronic book is a fine affair: It is easy, takes up little space, can be browsed and commented. It can be seen in portrait or landscape format, the font type and size can be changed more or less exactly to suit one’s preferences, content can be maximized or minimized. Even purchasing an e-book is pleasant: the user pulls out his mobile device, enters the electronic shop of his choice, searches specifically or browses around, selects, pays, downloads and reads.
