Members of the Globalization and Localization Association (GALA) have elected three members to the Board of Directors for 2014-2015.
- Diego Bartolomé (tauyou, Spain)
- Jesper Sandberg (Sandberg Translation Partners, United Kingdom)
- Serge Gladkoff (Logrus International, USA)
Diego Bartolomé will continue his tenure on the GALA board, having filled an open position for the past year. Serge Gladkoff, head volunteer of the GALA CRISP program, rejoins the board, having previously served from 2009 to 2012. Jesper Sandberg is new to the GALA board in the 2014-2015 term.
They join the following continuing Board members: Robert Etches (TextMinded Danmark, Denmark), Terena Bell (In Every Language, USA), Joël Sigling (AVB Translations, Netherlands), and Véronique Özkaya (Xplanation, Belgium). Board members Fabiano Cid (Ccaps Translation and Localization, Brazil) and Kim Harris (text & form, Germany) will conclude their Board service at the end of 2013.
This year, GALA put forward the largest slate of candidates in its history and had a voter turnout of 52%. “We are delighted about the new Board,” said Hans Fenstermacher, GALA’s CEO. “We thank the many strong candidates that demonstrated a commitment to GALA, and we want to express our deep gratitude to outgoing Board members Fabiano and Kim for their service and leadership these past years.”
