We have all become accustomed to the colorful and optimistic descriptions of present-day India. Nowadays, India is seen as a country of opportunities, a booming market, one of the best performing economies in the world, a nation on the move.

Since the onset of globalization in India during the early 1990s, liberal economic reforms of the government led to a steady flow of investments, provided competitive advantages to attract major multinational corporations (MNCs), and eventually turned the country into the world outsourcing center. In 2005, India controlled more than 40 percent of the global offshore outsourcing market for software and back-office services, with revenues of US $17.2 billion.
